How to Reset Brother Printer

Whether you're dealing with printing issues, network failures, or persistent error messages, a printer reset can often fix it. In this blog, we will discuss how to reset Brother printer using the Brother TN227 toner cartridge printer as an example.

I.When to Reset Your Brother Printer

Resetting your Brother printer depends on the problem you are experiencing. Here are some situations when you might consider resetting your Brother printer:

  1. Printing Problems: Poor print quality, streaks, faded prints, or other print-related issues. Resetting can help clear temporary errors and restore normal printing functionality.
  2. Network Configuration Change: You changed the Wi-Fi network or router and the printer no longer connects. Printer reset allows you to reconfigure the printer for the new network.
  3. Error Message: An error message or code persists and cannot be resolved through normal troubleshooting. Resetting the printer can clear the error log and resolve the issue causing the error message.
  4. Factory Reset: You want to restore the printer to its original settings. You may need to do this if you have customized your settings and want to start over, or if you are experiencing multiple issues with your printer.
  5. Cartridge Replacement: After installing a new toner cartridge, the printer still shows low toner levels or other cartridge-related issues. Resetting your Brother printer can help the printer recognize the new cartridges and resolve any detection issues.

Keep in mind that a factory reset will delete stored data. Before proceeding, make sure to back up all important information. Before starting any reset, record any custom settings, configuration, or network details. Factory reset returns the printer to its default settings and removes any modifications you have made.
